While the ‘mainstream’ female magazines still seem to be stuck in their mode of downsizing today’s women interest into celebrity gossip, fashion we couldn’t pay for anyway and depressing DIY furniture (always!) including potato stamps. Yet, the rise of independent girl magazines seem to be bubbling and the good news is: they actually pretty fucking good.

GET ME collected the three female magazines that are category changing and making pink a pretty cool colour again.

NO.01 - GIRLS GET BUSY

Not shy of using the F-word, this magazine is a collection of quirky but honest poems, collage-like visual essays and sticky anecdotes. Curated by lovely Beth Siveyer she caters us with interesting talent, a definitely-should-follow.

No.2 GIRLS LIKE US

Proud at this home-grown magazine that’s almost enviable perfect in mixing politics with pleasure. GIRLS LIKE US triumphantly contributes to a new voice of a post-gender future.

NO.3 CHERRY

Celebrating their one year anniversary in March this fruity magazine is gonna bring out a special issue full of Cherry’s best pieces. And I’m sure they will manage. Monthly changing life-essential theme’s, rotating contributors and one iconic style, leading lady Beth Dunne shows us true girl power.
